How we do friendship
PROGRAMS AT FRIENDSHIP PLACE
Our Programs
Through spiritual care and life-changing resources, we meet people where they are and help them move from crisis toward stability.

Christ is the source of peace and guidance
Life’s challenges can leave people feeling unseen and spiritually drained. Many of our neighbors long for encouragement, prayer, and the assurance that someone truly cares about their journey. Georgetown PRAYS responds by surrounding our neighbors, staff, and volunteers with the power of prayer and encouragement. Whether through our prayer team, handwritten inspirational cards, or one-on-one moments of care, this program reminds each neighbor that they are never alone and that hope is always within reach. Meeting rise of food insecurity
FREE MEALS SERVED WEEKDAYS 11am - 12pm * 1423 Front Street Whether facing food insecurity or simply seeking a boost to brighten their day, neighbors can enjoy nutritious meals that are prepared in a chef style kitchen and served with care...just as one would in a restaurant. Our neighbors value the non-judgmental atmosphere we provide, where they enjoy fellowship with others and participate in various special events and prize giveaways throughout the year. Alongside our daily meals, we also provide pantry support and operate a Mobile Food Trailer for food drives around the area. HOST FOOD TRAILER > REQUEST FOOD ASSISTANCE >

Helping neighbors transition from survival to stability
With so many societal circumstances impacting today's living costs, more families are finding themselves one unexpected bill away from crisis. Like many working-class citizens, living paycheck to paycheck comes without a safety net when the unexpected happens. Georgetown LIVES serves as a hub of hope, connecting neighbors to rent and utility assistance, relocation and transportation support, career services and other essential pathways to stable living. The team also hosts life empowerment and personal development workshops. HOST A WORKSHOP > APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE >

Creating safe spaces and brighter futures for youth
In our community, too many students struggle with literacy gaps and a lack of safe, structured spaces after school. Without positive outlets, young people can be left vulnerable to influences that don’t build them up. Georgetown LEARNS offers one-on-one tutoring, life-skills workshops, and even nutritious cooking classes. We recently launched our Teens Initiative, creating a supportive after-school space where teens can decompress, discover their potential, and prepare for the future. From boosting reading skills to building confidence and career readiness, Georgetown LEARNS is shaping tomorrow’s leaders today. Become a tutor or mentor >
