Answering the call since 1999
Under His wings you will find refuge
Since 1999, Friendship Place has been a place of refuge and hope for the Georgetown, SC community. Although our mission is well-known by our daily meals program, each day, individuals and families walk through our doors carrying heavy burdens: food insecurity, housing instability, job loss, recovery journeys, and life transitions they never expected.
Real Transformation
Because we believe real transformation happens through relationship, we take time to listen, to understand each neighbor’s story, and to respond with care that meets both immediate needs and long-term goals.
Most importantly, our work is grounded in the example of Jesus loving people as they are, offering grace without judgment, and serving through action.
We call those we serve our neighbors. You’ll never hear us use the words client or member.

Because the people who walk through our doors aren’t problems to solve or numbers to serve. They are individuals and families living right here in our community, sharing the same streets, schools, and stories as we do.
Jesus calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves and that’s exactly how we strive to show up for anyone who comes our way. With dignity. With compassion. And with genuine friendship.
Calling someone a neighbor reminds us that we are equals, connected by humanity and faith, and deserving of care without judgment. It keeps relationship at the center of everything we do and reminds us that none of us are meant to walk through hard seasons alone.
