How do I donate perishable foods?

Friendship Place will accept perishable food items, provided they have been properly maintained according to DHEC standards. (www.scdhec.net) Please call before bringing any perishable food items to ensure the items have been properly maintained and that we have the adequate refrigeration space for the donation.

How do I donate non-perishable foods?

Friendship Place will accept non-perishable food items for our hot meal program and our emergency food pantry. Please inspect the canned items for expiration date, dates, and can dents

How do I donate clothes, furniture, etc. ?

Friendship Place does accept gently used clothing and other items. These items are given away before each meal, we ask that our clients only take what they need. We do try to maintain a small inventory of coats and warm clothing.

How do I donate financially?

Friendship Place is a 501(c)3 charity and all donations are tax exempt to the limits that the law. If you would like to send a check, please make it out to Friendship Place, Inc. If you would like to donate on-line, click here.

How do I volunteer?

More than 9 area churches provide the volunteers for the hot meal program. So check and see if a group from your church is already helping us, or call 545-1115 and see if we can work you into some of our smaller groups.

What is the Transitional House?

The Friendship Place House is a 5 bedroom unit in the Georgetown County Housing authority. This house is used for individuals or families who are working towards self-sufficiency.
